- I think your being far too negative in this whole matter. I have seen nothing
- but good news since CBM croaked. Escom bought it, employeed some really great
- folks and started Amiga Tech. Amiga Tech has, indeed produced Amigas! We
- have Amigas (minus us NA folks who don't even have a AT A1200 yet) on the
- market and the market is slowly starting to sort itself out.
-
- Now, Escom in bad financial shape sells us off (So long and thanks for the
- fish!) to a group who bought Amiga Tech for four times what Escom bought it
- for. This group is *SOLID* Amiga folks and I just saw Carl from VIScom post a
- message ago on this very thread. We have Amigoids now in total control of
- Amiga future. They evidently, after spending $40,000,000.00 of their money,
- see a quiet bright future for our beloved Amiga. And so do I. Not only with
- their set tops, but with advance Amigas as well. I hope they sell millions
- apon millions of the set tops and folks love them. I hope they love them so
- much they will be willing to buy the next step up from the set top boxes, a
- full blown Amiga.
-
- I am not slighting Europe but they have some fundimental economic problems
- that is going to take years of political wrangling to solve before their
- economy (and phone system) becomes economically viable to equal NA market for
- luxiary items.
-
- I see nothing but good news in this buyout. I see a very eager VIScom who is
- goigg to take full advantage of Amiga hardware and software wise. I also see
- them pushing Amiga along the tech road to keep up in a very competitive
- market. All the above are plusses for us Amigaoids. Growth and developement
- with pure Amiga Engineers, what can be better then this? (well getting Dave
- Haynie on board full time would be nice but..)
-
-
- Now, if VIS/AT will get the Walker out on time and IN THIS MARKET....
